We’re glad you asked.

This year marks the 50th anniversary of Earth Day. (Do you know who is one year closer to 50? Our co-founder,Sean Lake. Happy birthday Fearless Leader.) The first Earth Day took place on April 22, 1970. According to their website, that first “Earth Day inspired 20 million Americans — at the time, 10% of the total population of the United States — to take to the streets, parks and auditoriums to demonstrate against the impacts of 150 years of industrial development which had left a growing legacy of serious human health impacts.”

Despite it’s milestone birthday, Earth Day 2020 will look a lot different this year, thanks to the global pandemic of COVID-19. This year, Earth Day will consist of 24 hours of virtual events, instead of the usual outdoor festivities like tree planting, beach clean ups, and recycling drives we’re accustomed to.

But one thing that won’t be different this Earth Day is BUBS commitment to purity and making the most eco-friendly decisions we can. BUBS Naturalsgoes to great lengths to find farmers and manufacturers that meet rigorous and tight standards to maintain our high supply chain benchmark, reaching nothing short of the pinnacle of purity when it comes to our products. That's why BUBS only uses 100% grass fed collagen, from the bovine hide of grass fed and pasture raised cattle.

Ashleigh Philbrook, our Head of Community Happiness (and overall gem of a human) here at BUBS, prides herself on the steps BUBS has taken to ensure that our customers are happy too. “At BUBS, we use only natural and sustainably sourced ingredients in order to reduce our environmental impact. By choosing collagen that comes from grass-fed and pasture raised cattle, you are helping offset, and potentially compensate completely, for methane and other greenhouse gases by locking carbon into the soil. When you choose to purchase products from a company like BUBS Naturals, you are making a sustainable choice for your family and our Earth, ensuring a future where people, animals, and nature thrive together.”

Plus, grass fed collagen is just better for you. It comes exclusively from grass-fed, pasture-raised bovine hides from South America. Grass fed protein sources are leaner than their grain fed conventional counterparts and are higher in key nutrients, antioxidants and vitamins with none of the icky ingredients found in conventional grain fed sources. This quality is also one of the reasons whyBUBS Collagen is Whole30 Program approved

The standards of feed, location, and quality that BUBS accepts is a core component of our brand, and that’s a marker of quality that comes from the top down. From Sean Lake, birthday boy extraordinaire and co-founder of BUBS,  “Sourcing from South America can be a tricky venture for lots of brands. At BUBS we source exclusively from the south of Brazil and Uruguay, thousands of miles away from the conflict ridden and precious Amazon rainforest. Grass fed is only as good as the commitment to the environment in which the cows live.”
